New Jersey Kayaking 2023
Outdoor Sports
The term Kayak (Ki ak) was originally derived from the Eskimo word for “Man-boat”. The vessels themselves were invented approximately 5,000 years ago by the Inuit, Aleut, and Yup ‘ik indigenous peoples of our modern-day Greenland, Canada, and Alaska. Still, today in 2023, these boats for individual transport remain ideal for hunting, fishing, and general enjoyment of our global waterways. New Jersey is about 150 miles long and 70 miles wide, comprising 8,722 square miles. Within this state, there are hundreds of beautiful waterways to kayak and relax in nature’s bounty. The following is a list of some of the wonderful tributaries the Garden State of New Jersey has to offer.
